Thought I’d quickly share this Proverb which has been referred to frequently in my Church over the past few years, but is rich with meaning that in my opinion warrants deeper reflection…

Also is what I had in mind in my reference to Oprah and her impartation/embodiment of “Vision”:

“Where there is no vision the people perish;
but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.” (KJV)

“Where there is no vision the people are unrestrained;
but happy is he who keeps the law.” (NASB)

“Where there is no prophetic vision the people cast off restraint;
but blessed is he who keeps the law.” (ESV)

“Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint;
but blessed is he who keeps the law.” (NIV)

Quick Food for thought — notice the different words used to help flesh out the meaning intended by this verse:

Vision = Prophetic Vision = Revelation

&

Perish = Are Unrestrained = Cast Off Restraint

&

Happy is he = Blessed
